Thursday, August 9, 2012 marked the Opening Ceremony of the Chelsea Primary School Olympic Village and Olympics Games 2012. For one week students were randomly assigned a country village to belong to, learn its culture and prepare to represent the country in the parade of flags. The event was graced by Her Majesty and her corgi. The torch bearer lit up the Olympic Flame and the games were officially opened. Check out next vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYsD4meYwqM

After the parade of 17 countries represented in the Chelsea School Olympics 2012, the student athletes and the school community was treated to a special royal visit by "The Queen" and one of her corgis. The torch bearer lit the Olympic flame, a student athlete representative recited the Olympic Oath and the Chelsea Primary School Olympic Games 2012 event was officially opened. (9 August 2012)
