The celebration began with the parade of 17 countries followed by the torch bearer lighting the cauldron. Her Majesty the Queen graced us with her presence and her corgi and the games began after the oath was pledged.

Watch and learn as the teachers showed the kids what FUN and challenging game events await them at the Chelsea Olympic Game Opening on Thursday, the 9th of August.

For the fastest, highest and strongest, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals awaited those who outdid the rest. Blue Medals were also given to those who demonstrated the Olympic Spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the event.

Watch and learn as the teachers introduced the FUN, challenging game events to be held at the Chelsea Olympics on Thursday, the 9th of August. The events included were: Target Throw, Ring Toss, Hula Hoop, Strength Test, Stacking Cups and Pin the Olympic Rings.

Her Majesty the Queen graced our Opening Ceremonies with her presence and her corgi. The celebration started with the parade of the 17 represented nations, followed by the torch bearer lighting up the cauldron, the visit of the Queen, the pledge of oath and finally, the games were officially opened by the Queen.

This link will open 6 Year Level folders, each showing a slideshow of olympic games participated in by students in one particular year level. Note: Student athletes competed against students in the same year level in the same event.

The fastest, the highest and the strongest got awarded the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for an amazing feat and meritorious efforts! Blue Medals were also given to those athletes who demonstrated the true spirit of the Olympics - sportsmanship, solidarity and teamwork.

This links to a few photos during the Friday morning breakfast after their Thursday sleepover. Students had options of sausages on bread or cereals and a Milo chocolate for drink. Teachers served the students by countries. Only a few photos were taken. Students cleaned up their country rooms and got their sleeping gear packed for hometime. Free play followed prior to the Blue Medal Awarding Ceremony.

Last Friday, August 10, students who demonstrated comradeship, sportsmanship, teamwork and camaraderie - true spirit of the Olympics, were awarded Blue Medals. As the children packed their sleeping gear ready for home, their parents awaited and embraced the successes of their children. Thanks to all for your support in ensuring the success of this momentous event.
